The name Shoppertise is a combination of "shopping" and "expertise". The name positions us as the online meeting place for all shopping experts -- both merchants and customers -- and illustrates our commitment to be shopping experts. We aim to be a place for merchants to "meet" and be "discovered" by the right consumers.
Shoppertise was founded in early 2014 by CK Yap and Christine Liew as a cloud-based, mobile-first eCommerce platform.
The owl in the logo represents the many nights the team slogged through to get the business up and running.
The name Pocketbook was inspired by the 'buku 555' that was commonly used by small traders in Malaysia to record business dealings.
We wish to elevate and disrupt the eCommerce landscape in Asia Pacific with a focus in growing small and medium businesses, starting with our home base in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
