8 major updates to Pocketbook that will benefit your business

When we launched Pocketbook last Christmas, we knew that it was just the beginning of better things to come. Since then, we’ve worked really hard to make Pocketbook more useful for you — the creative small business community of Malaysia. After much tinkering and consultation with the experts (that would be you guys!), we are now ready to introduce Pocketbook 2.0!

Pocketbook 2.0’s super powers:

Additional language options

Additional language options
As a homegrown startup, we are constantly looking for ways to empower more Malaysian business owners with the benefits of mobile commerce. Our latest update sees Pocketbook transforming into a multi-lingual personal sales assistant, offering the option of Bahasa Malaysia and Simplified Chinese (简体中文) to support our fellow Malaysians who prefer to cari makan in a more familiar language.

Seamless photo update

Seamless photo update
We’ve squashed the annoying bug that’s been getting in the way of your photo uploads. Now you can upload photos of your creations without tearing out your hair. Plus, you can now upload up to 5 images per item so you can present more information about your products (size charts, details etc).

Faster loading time

Faster loading time
You’re at a bazaar and a throng of customers are lining up to buy your awesome merchandise. You don’t have time to wait for an app to load. That’s why we’ve oiled the algorithms under the hood to speed things up for you.

Flat transaction fee of RM2.00

Flat transaction fee of RM2.00
Before this, we charged a 4% fee on every transaction. While that worked well, we felt there was an easier and more affordable way to get things done. After all, we started out with a mission to provide small businesses with enterprise-grade solutions and bank-level security — without breaking the bank. Thanks to our latest partnership with RHB Bank, we are now able to process online transactions more efficiently while passing on some savings to you! RM2.00 is all it takes to keep your transaction rolling smoothly.

Monthly sales view

The dashboard has been streamlined to be less wordy. Cleaner visuals show you your monthly sales figures and how much you’re due to receive from your Shoppertise payment account for the corresponding month. You’ll also receive a sales report as a PDF in your email.

Please note: this feature is available for Android users and will be released for iOS users in 2 weeks! (July 2016)

Prioritised information, smoother flow

Prioritised information, smoother flow
When adding a new item: We switched a few things around so you can fill in more important details first — item name, description, category and price. Other details can be viewed when you tap the expand button.

When navigating: Have you heard of the hamburger menu? No, it’s not the menu that lists your Ramli burger favourites. It’s the three lines that you tap to display other menu options.

We’ve replaced it with a shiny new navigation bar so you can get to where you want to go faster.

Shareable customer reviews

Shareable customer reviews
In Pocketbook 2.0, you can view your customers’ feedback within the order details screen and share selected reviews on your brand’s social channels. You’ll receive a notification every time there is a new review.

Quick buy feature

Quick buy feature
After you’ve added the item you wish to sell using the Quick Buy feature, you can determine the amount of postage for East and West Malaysia. And instead of having to type each customer’s address and risk non-deliveries due to typos, your customers can do it themselves after making payment. That’s less administrative work for you, and more power to the customer!

Now that we’ve launched all that great stuff, all that’s left for you to do is to download the app on Google Play or App Store and try it out for yourself. We look forward to hearing your feedback and who knows, your feedback could spark the development of Pocketbook 3.0!
